When research changes what you planned to build

A question in ElectronDreams: which foundations should we reuse, and what still needs proving?

ElectronDreams begins with existing boards and components. That makes research into what already exists part of the design work.

One source review, carried out with an agent, challenged an easy differentiation story. Some capabilities in our proposed direction were already present in an existing device toolkit. Calling our version portable or lifecycle-oriented would not, by itself, establish a useful difference.

The review proposed testing reuse before building equivalent foundations. It pointed toward harder questions about verified configurations, action permissions and observed physical outcomes. Those are research proposals, not capabilities we have demonstrated.

I find value in this kind of correction. A plan can become more specific when the research removes an assumption. The next step is to decide what small test would tell us something—not to turn the new hypothesis into another finished-product claim.
